Find out how much YOUR neighbourhood is owed by the West Midlands Pension Fund.

It's not just your council.

It's also your area's schools, colleges, unis, police, and firestations.
Ask for it back.

In our last blog we explained how the £4.3 Billion surplus in the West Midlands Pension Fund consists partly of £2Billion which should have been spent instead on council services.

But that actually the biggest impact was also on schools, FE Colleges and universities across the region. Almost £2Billion in  spending there was absorbed, instead,  into the surplus.

£185Million of spending on   Fire and Police service spending was, instead, simply  absorbed into the fund's surplus.

When the now £21Billion Fund literally has £4.3Billion more than it should have.

So how were individual neighbourhoods affected by this? How much does the regional Pension Fund owe YOUR area? Hover over the map or enter your postcode. Then see how the sums add up where you live. And WHO to contact to get it back to your community. Not next year. Not over the next four years. Now.

Our schools' estimates are based on imputing similar surpluses at LA-maintained schools (including central services) as to those in academy/free schools with similar profiles. These ought instead to be publicly available for public scrutiny and we would welcome councils and the WMPF publishing these. The figures for Councils, FE Colleges and universities, Fire and Police are extracted from their accounts, mainly published this summer 2025.
